For the Marching Band, chaperones can ride the bus with the band, and will be assigned duties that can range from making meals at the trip site, placing equipment/instruments/props on the football field for the Marching Band show, or Uniforms/shako plumes/shining shoes. Chaperones will receive a wristband for admission into the competition for the Bandstand President. Please visit the "Volunteer" tab to view an example of a prop assignment.
There can sometimes be a lot of down time between the preliminary performance and finals. Chaperones might consider bringing a lawn chair, snacks/water, and layers of clothing for inclement weather.

Otherwise, you can purchase photos from Open Your Eyes Visuals.
Why is there so much fundraising?
The fundraising not only generates money for the Band programs, it also gives parents the opportunity to accumulate funds for their student's bandstand account. There tends to be a trend of participation only during years that students' travel (Disneyland, Hawaii Trips), however, keep in mind, your fundraising efforts roll over throughout the years that your student is in the band program. Continuing to finance for your student and build up the amount in their account will reduce out of pocket expenses or even create total compensation.
