MARCHING BAND PARENTS
PROP/FIELD ASSIGNMENTS

It's a Big Job, and Many Hands Make the Work Light.

Sometime in the middle of August, the Bandstand President will send out two Google Forms: Parent Information and Marching Band Volunteer Crew.  Information collected will help allocate volunteer positions based on your interests. This may include bringing equipment out onto the field for marching band performances, helping with meals during marching band competitions, assisting with uniforms for the marching band, and many other needed areas. See the information below.

Marching Band Competitions - Trip Chaperones

The Marching Band travels for some of the competitions, this can be a day trip or it may be an overnight trip.
We will need parent volunteers to chaperone on these trips.

  • Assignments: see above for a sample of the assignment spreadsheet and locations of equipment placing on the field.
  • Down Time: the Band will perform in the morning to mid afternoon for the Preliminary Round, and then again in the evening for Finals. Sometimes there is a lot of down time during competitions, chaperones, we recommend you bring a lawn chair, snacks, books, etc. for yourself.
  • Wrist Bands: You will receive a wrist band for entry into the competition, you do not need to pay for yourself.
  • Travel: You have the choice to drive your own car or travel on the charter bus with the students. If you are driving your own vehicle, you will need to park in the venue parking lot and walk over to our band's setup area.
OVERNIGHT TRIP CHAPERONE:  Field Assignments are still applicable on these trips. You will be assigned a duty, as well as your role as a chaperone. You will have the choice to ride the charter bus with the students or drive your own car. You will also have the choice to find your own hotel or house with the students at the lodging site; usually a school gymnasium close to the competition venue. See the packing list on what to bring if you will be staying with the students.
